Etiquette is Essential

How hard can it really be? People ... teach your kids to be respectful and responsible human beings. While you are doing that, try to lead by example. My kids are not perfect by any means, but I hope they remember all of those "little" things they were taught over the years.

Words to live by:
Please
Thank you
You're welcome
Excuse me
I'm sorry

Actions to never forget:
Hold a door open for someone
Remove unruly kids from a movie or restaurant
Treat others as you want to be treated

Of course these are just a few things that people sometimes overlook. A kind gesture is worth so much. Even better than the normal everyday rules of etiquette ... challenge yourself to pay (not necessarily in cash) it forward at least once a month. It's amazing how good it makes you feel. Be the best person you can be.

See you tomorrow folks!

  2. I have really enjoyed watching my friends discipline their children. It's SO educational. We don't have kids yet so I'm trying to take mental notes. Your post today has a handful of tried and true rules to live by. Good job!

  3. I really like the concept of random acts of kindness. Like the basic courtesies, they not only make a positive difference for the people to whom we extend them, they make a positive difference in our lives too.

Enjoyed your post. Happy A to Z-ing!
